Lab Services
The Director of Laboratory Services wanted to highlight their new, convenient lab draw locations and outstanding members of a behind-the-scenes team that helps our nurses and physicians care for patients. The story also covers how the Lab Services team quickly mobilized in March 2020 to provide COVID testing.
Patient Care Techs
Because many nurses start their careers as patient care techs (PCT) and PCTs support nurses, the organization launched a PCT training program to educate the next generation of healthcare professionals. To promote the program, I interviewed and photographed two PCT graduates working at the hospital.
Patient Transporters
I followed a patient transporter for a few hours to observe how the transport team upholds high standards of patient care, tending to their patients’ comfort and ensuring accurate communication during hand-offs.
Gift Shop
“Everyone takes care of patients here” was a saying at the organization, recognizing the contributions of non-clinical staff to create a positive patient experience. In this article, I shared how our gift shop employees support patients, visitors, and staff.
